Financial Aid

A limited amount of financial aid is available to help pay for attendance at the ADASS conference. Financial aid is provided to participants based primarily on the merit of the abstract of their presentation (oral, poster, or demonstration) and its relevance to ADASS. Financial aid may be provided for any or all of the following:

Hotel accommodations
Registration
Demonstration fees

At present we do not expect to be able to provide financial support for air fare except in exceptional circumstances. In order to apply for financial aid, the following must be received by 1 July 2001:

A completed Financial Aid Request Form
A completed Abstract Submission Form
Letter of recommendation (if applicant is a student)
Brief resume, not to exceed 2 pages, which can include an abbreviated bibliography of up to 5 papers related to astronomical data analysis/software development.

The format for the last two items may be ASCII text, PDF, or a LaTeX document; they must be submitted electronically by one of the following methods:

If you are requesting financial aid, DO NOT fill out a registration form at this time. All requests for financial aid will be considered after the abstract deadline. Those requesting financial aid will be notified soon after that date as to the status of their request. At that point the registration forms should be submitted. If the financial aid is granted, instructions will be provided on how to indicate this on the registration form. If aid is not granted, applicants will be given an opportunity to register at the early discounted rate.
